When I started on my weight loss journey, I could not find many blogs about women in their 60’s written by ordinary people in their 60’s.
Losing weight in my 30’s was vastly different from doing it thirty years later. It has some unique challenges.
I could not found my tribe: people my age, who had been dieting for decades and wanted to end the madness.
My focus was never about becoming a star athlete or having the flattest stomach.
As a bit of a slacker in the exercise department I didn’t see myself starting off with an intense work out program.
I am also OK with some wobbly bits!
I knew there were plenty of women like me who weren’t expecting to have the same body of their younger self.
Women, like me, who had spent most of their life dieting and wanted to spend the last part of their life happy with their body.
Not only was the age a factor, but the motivation behind doing this.
My age also motivated me to find a solution for life. The clock is ticking!
My life experience had value. I knew the pain and misery of being fat and fed up…. for years.
For me, I wanted to find a way to make peace with my body and my relationship with food. And I wanted to lose weight. In the past these goals had been at odds with each other.
After I lost the weight, I realized my age was a huge help, as I had so many years of experience of dieting. Probably not a diet out there I haven’t tried!
I had found a new path and I wanted to scream about this to the world!!
There are millions of people searching for the answer.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they didn’t have to spend decades of frustration, weight cycling and all the other adverse effects of dieting?
They will not find the solution using the same old diet plans.
What is the point of repeating the same scenario?
The only way forward for me was to create a custom plan, a sustainable one for my lifestyle and my needs.
It changed my weight, which was great.
But other changes were more significant.
Giving up dieting and becoming a Dieter in Recovery changed my life.
Want to join me and find a new path?
Come along with me as I share my story.
Take care of yourself.
You are so worth it.
