Of course, it will, I hear you say.
I will be healthier, and happier.
But are you?
You are not healthier emotionally if you are obsessed by dieting, anxious and nervous about everything you put in your mouth.
You are not healthy emotionally if you obsess about ways to lose more weight, keep the weight off and always on the search for another quick fix diet.
You are not healthier physically if you have starved yourself or restricted whole food groups that have eliminated or reduced essential nutrients for your body.
You are not healthier if you are constantly yo-yo dieting.
Losing weight did not change my life, but the process of doing it did.
The freedom from dieting without the constant angst around my weight, and the self-flagellation I had engaged in, made all the difference.
This made me healthier emotionally and as the pounds left me the physical health benefits appeared.
The steps I took on this journey to become a Dieter in Recovery brought me to a more loving place.
Dieting in the old way had never done that.
As I shed all the old ways, I shed the pounds and found a happiness that I had never experienced before.
I am so worth it, and so are you.
Are you ready to find a new way?
